Titash Upazila is under Comilla district with an area of 107.20 Sq. Km. is bounded by Homna Upazila on the north, Daudkandi Upazila on the south, Muradnagar Upazila on the east and Meghna Upazila and Meghna river on the west. Main rivers of the Upazila are Gomoti, Titash, Kathalia and Kedai Khali.
The unions of Titash Upazila were under Daudkandi Upazila few months before. Daudkahdi Thana was established in 1858 and area wise it was a very big thana . In the year 2004 the newly established Titash upazila came into being. The upazila consists of 9 union parishads and 131 villages. Its total population is about 162819, male 48% and female 52%. Out of them Muslim 90% and Hindu only 10%.
Literacy rate is around 30%, male around 35% and female around 25%. Educational institutions are, college 1, higher secondary school 11, primary school 85 and madrasha 15
Main occupations of this area are, agriculture 42%, agri-labourer 19%, business 14%, service 7% and handicraft, collage industry and others comprises 18.
The area is mainly treble crop area. As like many other places paddy is the main crop, followed by jute, wheat, potato, mustard seed, chilly, sweet potato, water- melon, pulse, onion, garlic and vegetables. The wage rate in agriculture ranges between taka 75 to taka 80 and for non-agriculture wage rate is taka 120 to taka 150. Women are involved in handicraft, cottage industry and service. Major problem of this area is sanitation. Operationally important NGOs are BRAC, ASA, CCDA and Uddipan.
